"The VentTie has proven to be a lifesaving device for our vent patients in our Long -Term Ventilator Dependent Hospital which housed over 100 ventilator patients. It is required by policy to be used on patients with trache tubes. In rare occasions that this device was not used on a patient who has a tracheostomy tube and is on a ventilator, they very often get disconnected from the ventilator or oxygen tubings. At times the disconnection is due to forceful coughing, contracture of upper extremities that position the hands right against the trache tube or unintentional touching of the trache tube by cognitively impaired patients, to mention a few. I have worked with this product for more than 10 years and can attest to its effectiveness and its importance in the provision of safe care to patients who have trache tubes. It gives the nurse added assurance that the patient will not easily get disconnected from oxygen or vent tubings. It is truly a great product"
